Boston Health Tech Startup SimbiQ Names Kimberly Wood Chief Technology Officer

Boston, MA, July 28, 2020 -- SimbiQ, a consumer-facing health management platform that drives simplified, informed and integrated care steerage, is pleased to announce that Kimberly Wood has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.

Kimberly will be responsible for all SimbiQ technology, including infrastructure, architecture, engineering, quality assurance and technology operations. She also will serve as the company’s Chief Information Security Officer, ensuring patient data security remains central to all aspects of SimbiQ’s operations.

Prior to joining SimbiQ, Kimberly was the Chief Information Officer for Legacy Global Sports (LGS), an international elite youth sports and event management company headquartered in Boston, MA. At LGS, she centralized IT operations, up-skilled talent throughout the organization, and upgraded the entire LGS technology stack. Prior to LGS, Kimberly was head of corporate technology at SmartBear Software, a global software development company. While at SmartBear, she oversaw the modernization of the company’s corporate infrastructure, built a high-performing global team, and successfully led the integration of corporate technology in five acquisitions. She was recognized by Women in IT Summit and Awards Services in 2019 as a finalist in two categories: Future CIO of the Year and IT Team of the Year.

Kimberly is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who served for 16 years in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Reserve, and the U.S Navy.

In addition to Kimberly, SimbiQ reaffirmed its intention to get its groundbreaking platform to market next year with the hire of Jim Quinn, who joins as Vice President of Engineering. Jim will be responsible for the oversight and execution of product development and testing of the SimbiQ Health platform.

Jim brings more than 20 years of software development experience to his new role, spanning across highly innovative startups to prominent technology leaders such as Hewlett-Packard, eBay and Raytheon Technologies. Prior to joining SimbiQ, Jim most recently held software engineering leadership positions with Legacy Global Sports, Eaton Vance and Agrivida.
